Frequently Asked Questions

Must I attend South Ridge Community Church?
No, lessons are taught from a non-denominational, but distinctly Christian perspective, and all children are welcome to attend Crossroads.

What are your hours?
School begins at 8:45 am and dismisses at 3:15 pm.

Do you have childcare beyond school hours?
Yes, you may bring your child as early as 7:30 am and pick up your child as late as 5:30 pm. This service is not included in tuition and is billed separately.

What does your curriculum include?
Crossroads provides a rigorous, multi-sensory education through creative, active lessons. The core subjects are progressive and age appropriate. Students begin by learning the basics of reading through a systematic approach to phonics, and progress to complex tasks such as being able to analyze multiple texts that provide conflicting information on the same topic and identifying where the texts disagree on matters of fact or interpretation.

In addition to Bible and core subjects, CCA offers music, art, computer, library, and physical education classes. Crossroads chooses resources and textbooks that support the Common Core Standards, that present the material well, and that are consistent with Christian education. Both Christian and secular publishers are used, however all subjects are taught within the context of Christian values.

Do you provide transportation?
No, Crossroads does not provide transportation; the majority of our families have carpooling arrangements. Depending on where you live, you may be eligible to receive either bus transportation by your district, or a NJ State reimbursement of approximately $884 for each child enrolled in K-8th grade at Crossroads.

Do students wear uniforms?
Students wear school approved shirts from LANDS' END. Most students wear jeans and sneakers. Slacks, shorts, or skirts are allowed as long as the length is appropriate.

Do you have a lunch program?
Lunch is available daily. The lunch coordinator plans meals with the preferences and the health of our students in mind. Lunch is billed separately from tuition.

Is there tuition assistance?
Yes, Crossroads works closely with parents who want their children to benefit from a Christian education.
